Botox® in Minneapolis, MN

WHAT IS BOTOX®?

Botox® is classified as a neuromodulator injectable cosmetic treatment. These types of injectables work by relaxing muscles that create wrinkles when you use facial expressions. The forehead and eye area are most prone to developing what is known as “dynamic wrinkles.”

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BOTOX®?

  • Non-surgical
  • No scarring
  • No general anesthesia
  • No downtime
  • Treats lines on the forehead and around the eyes
  • Long-lasting results

HOW DOES BOTOX® WORK?

Botox® contains a special ingredient that temporarily relaxes muscles in the upper third of the face. This mechanism allows the skin to also “relax,” thus softening lines and wrinkles.

CAN YOUNGER PATIENTS BENEFIT FROM BOTOX®?

We begin to develop wrinkles in our 30s, meaning that younger patients can also benefit from Botox® treatments. The treatments may prevent your wrinkles from developing into deeper creases, although this varies by patient.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY BOTOX® TREATMENTS?

Botox® is injected into the muscles with a very small needle, and several injections are needed to reduce the wrinkles. Most patients remain comfortable during the treatment.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER MY BOTOX® TREATMENTS?

The injections may cause some localized symptoms, such as tenderness, bruising, swelling, and slight bleeding. This should only occur at the injection sites and last for one to three days.

Botox® does provide some immediate wrinkle reduction, and full results may take up to seven days.

IS BOTOX® RIGHT FOR ME?

Botox® is recommended for women with:

  • Vertical lines between the eyes
  • Crow’s feet
  • Horizontal lines on the forehead

Some medical conditions and allergies preclude patients from Botox® treatments. We can schedule a consultation with Dr. Friedman to ensure that Botox® is the best anti-aging solution for you.

HOW MUCH DOES BOTOX® COST?

The cost of Botox® varies, and we discuss pricing at the time of your consultation.
